Lindsey Stirling Calendar 2017

Title: Lindsey Stirling Calendar 2017
Info: This is the third year in a row in which I treat myself with a personalized Lindsey Stirling calendar. I enjoy choosing the photos as ever and every photo has a meaning to me. I was very impatient for the 2017 one – around the release of Brave Enough we enjoyed many lovely new photoshoots so choosing from them was a pleasure. Having a Lindsey calendar is very important to me – I have numerous posters (but only one on display) and the calendar. Looking at her makes me happier, more positive and optimistic person. Here goes:

January 2017: January is so very cold, kind of depressing month (after the holidays) and I wanted a picture to suit the mood. After much consideration I picked a gorgeous photo from the summer festivals of Lindsey playing Crystallize and striking a beautiful dancer’s pose.

February 2017: February begs for a goofy, fun photo and as soon as I saw this one, I fell inlove with it. It’s taken backstage during the summer festivals and it goes with my February mood perfectly.
Photographer: Amy Harris, Lollapalooza 2016

March 2017: I choose again a photo from the summer tour of this year (not a big variety till now :P). Don’t really like this month so I didn’t have any specific wishes for the photo. I loved the colours, pose and quality of this one so I went with it. Definitely a favourite concert photo.

April 2017: As this is the first month of the spring, in which everything is very warm, green and somehow awaken, I wanted a photo to express that freedom after the cold months. Naturally, I went for a photo from Disorder Magazine - my favourite photoshoot so far, with the loveliest setting, dresses and poses. Choosing a photo from this lovely photoshoot was a hard job as they are all so beautiful.

May 2017: For the past two years, for May I've chosen photos from the same photoshoot with Devin Graham for her first album. This year I wanted something different but at the time when I was making the calendar I was feeling very nostalgic so I went with this photo from 2010 - some may recognize it as the photo from her Lindsey Stomp EP, released six years ago.

June 2017: This is the second photo I've chosen from Disorder Magazine and a second favourite one. Had there been more photos in HQ, I'd have picked more to grace my calendar. June is a fun, warm, lazy month so I wanted a fun, quirky photo.

July 2017: I needed an appropriate photo for the hottest month of the year and the backstory for this photoshoot is a curious one: there was a fire somewhere in Utah and Scott Jarvie and Lindsey went to shoot those gorgeous photos, which I believe are loved by many fans. The actual photo for the calendar is a behind the scenes one which I loved immensely as it shows a dancing silhouette with a violin on a fire field. Then again, every single photo from this shoot is amazing and I've used them many times for my other calendars/posters. I didn't want to use any oldies for this calendar but this was too good of an opportunity to pass.

August 2017: In September 2017 Lindsey performed the national anthem at the Monday Night Football opening. Naturally, I'm not interested in sports or american football but the photos were so beautiful and full of happiness that I immediately had to include them. Choosing this one was a hard job, as all the photos from Fielding Cathcart were so pretty.

September 2017: September is my month, so I needed a special photo to grace it. The answer came with another beautiful photoshoot, this time for 1883 Magazine. That's exactly the full of energy and effortless beauty photos I need.

October 2017: The last three months of the year are always hard for me to imagine or choose photos to suit them. I don't particularly like them either because of all the gloomy weather and depression. For October I chose an appropriately gloomy coloured photo of Lindsey from her Brave Enough tour in my favourite dress. It's mainly the beautiful pose and dress that made the choice for this one.

November 2017: Throwback to a beloved video of mine, Moon Trance, which also happens to be very suitable for Halloween. Needless to say, I love Josh Rossi's work and again, at the time I felt nostalgic so I threw in a couple of old photos of Lindsey.

December 2017: I like choosing photos for December because I get to pick a Christmas one - the choice for next year's December photo was very clear. I went with a lovely picture from Lindsey's CMA Country Christmas 2015 performance, which is the best Christmas performance ever. It's also noteworthy that Lindsey's dressed like a Christmas present.

Important note: This calendar isn't and has never been meant to be sold to other people. It's made purely for my enjoyment and I don't ever wish to capitalize on other people's work. All of the photographers did an amazing job and I'm forever grateful that they chose to share their art with us.
